Ameerbi &amp; Others<\/em>, Civil Appeal Nos. 4953\u20134957 of 1998, decided on 7 December 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Representation Before the Supreme Court<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The case record identifies <strong>Sanjay R. Hegde, Anil K. Mishra, Vikrant Yadav and Sashidhar<\/strong> as appearing for the appellants. Mr. Mishra therefore formed part of the counsel team representing the State of Karnataka and the other appellants in the proceedings before the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Matter Before the Court<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The appeals concerned the legal status of <strong>Anganwadi Workers and Helpers<\/strong> engaged under the <strong>Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme<\/strong>. The Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal had held that, despite receiving an honorarium, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers held civil posts and that the application before the Tribunal was maintainable.<\/p>\n<p>The State of Karnataka challenged that determination before the Supreme Court. The State&#8217;s case included the contention that the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers were engaged under the Scheme, were not appointed to sanctioned statutory posts, and were not holders of civil posts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Mishra&#8217;s Recorded Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mishra&#8217;s role in the reported judgment is established through his appearance as a member of the counsel team representing the appellants. The judgment, however, does <strong>not separately attribute any particular submission or argument to Mr. Anil K. Mishra<\/strong>. The submissions recorded in the judgment are attributed to the learned counsel appearing for the appellants, particularly Mr. Sanjay R. Hegde.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, Mr. Mishra&#8217;s verified contribution for purposes of this case is his participation as <strong>counsel for the appellants, representing the State of Karnataka and other appellants before the Supreme Court<\/strong>.
