Anil Kumar Mishra is an experienced Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, with over two decades of practice spanning constitutional, civil, criminal, and commercial law. He began his career in 1998 as a chamber junior to Mr. Gopal Jain, Senior Advocate, and later trained under Mr. Sanjay R. Hegde, Senior Advocate, regularly representing the State of Karnataka and the Union of India before the Supreme Court. He has briefed and assisted several of the country’s leading Senior Advocates, including Mr. Ashok Desai, Mr. Gopal Subramaniam, Mr. Fali Nariman, and Mr. C.A. Sundaram. He also maintains an active practice in international and domestic arbitration, having appeared for foreign clients in cross-border disputes.
He has served as Amicus Curiae in landmark matters before the Supreme Court, on issues concerning criminal jurisprudence and the rights of vulnerable groups. In 2021, he was shortlisted by the SCBA Search Committee for elevation to the High Court of Jharkhand. Beyond his litigation practice, he is involved in pro bono legal aid work — including with the NGO Dastak, supporting the legal rights of destitute women — and has contributed academic articles to national and international legal publications.
